Anything else?
On Sunday 17th November, 2013 I needed to take my 90 year old mother-in-law to the A & E Dept. at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. She had chest pains and had been experiencing severe chest pain when breathing. She had been unable to sleep and had vomited some two hours previously. On arrival at A & E we were immediately booked in by the receptionist, who was polite and attentive. Within 10 minutes my mother-in-law was seen by a member of the nursing staff and made comfortable and given reassurance. Various tests were carried out and although extremely worrying for a woman of her age we were assured that the symptoms did not appear to be life threatening. She was later seen by a very caring Doctor, decided that x-rays of my mother-in-law's chest were appropriate and that admission for the night was indicated. Whilst there was some waiting involved my mother-in-law was very well treated and cared for. It was a busy night for the A & E staff but by 2.30 a.m. the next morning (three hours later) my mother-in-law was admitted. First class treatment and I thank all the staff involved.
