"Labour - Delivery - Over night stay"

I just wanted to say Thank you to the staff in the The Delivery suite at Basildon Hospital, I couldn't fault the care I received by the midwives and doctors. I had decided that I wanted to Hypnobirth a lot of my labour, although the delivery suite is more for intervention, they let me have the birth I wanted, it's all about compermise, as they need to give the care you require. My midwife know how I wanted to be able to move freely, but in one position the taco monitor kept losing the baby's heart rate, so I just didn't stand lending over the bed. After my baby girl was born, I needed to go to theatre, the doctors etc explained everything that was going to happen before and after. My husband stayed with our little girl, but was bought to me in recovery after my surgery. I stayed over night on Cedar ward, my husband could stay with me till midnight, and come back at 7am. The midwives here were really helpful, especially explaining different techniques to help me get my baby to latch on to breast feed. With all the negative press that has been about during my pregnancy for Basildon Hospital, I was really worried about giving birth there, but I can honestly say I could not fault the Maternity department in any way. A huge Thank you to all the staff x
