"Wellington Medical Practice: Not good enough"

About: Shropshire and Staffordshire

(as the patient),

I am 82 years old and the last time I have attempted to book a doctors appointment have been by a nurse. I first went in May with very severe back ache and leg pain, and was given cream for "sciatica".

I suffered with this pain for the rest of the summer and tried again in October to see a doctor to see if there was indeed a cause for the pain. But again, I was referred to a doctors appointment and was again seen by a nurse.

This time, she did carry out a little examination and agreed to physio treatment. I would, however, have liked to have a doctors assessment as it may or may not be sciatica.

I am now in quite severe pain and can barely wait, and await the appointment made by TRAQS with hope that the physiotherapy may help.

Also, appointments of my sort are "phone up, await a doctors phoned reply" - and they normally say come the same day - not always convenient, as I do not drive and have to arrange transport.

Not good enough.
