(as the patient),

I was amazed how quickly my appointment came after seeing my GP.

I had an on-off ache above my right heel, after some digging in the garden.

The physiotherapist at Newport Cottage explained that the tendon behind the swelling had deteriorated a little with age and needed strengthening.

He showed me two exercises which I am now doing regularly, which should after two or three months see the disappearance of the problem.

It only troubles me if I go for a long walk or a series of walks in a day, but I look forward to the end of the occasional moderate pain, causing a slight lump.
