I have recently had a hysterectomy in E ward at Ormskirk hospital and one cannot complain about any of the experience where the medical care is concerned.

From the beginning I did not have to wait long for the operation or previous outpatient appointments and the care on the ward was excellent.

In contrast, although the medical staff were just as caring when it came to a small operation at Ear, Nose and Throat about 18 months ago (the actual surgery was also done at Ormskirk Hospital), the experience at the outpatient appointments at Southport were quite stressfull.

I have had 3 appointments cancelled and have had to wait months for them. At one of them I had to wait about 2 hours as the appointments had been double booked. What is going on in this department?

Generally I think the Southport and Ormskirk District Hospitals have improved a lot, particularly for cleanliness.
