My grandfather was admitted into the hospital, via A&E back in early September with breathing difficulties. The doctors transferred him to the respiratory ward where after a spell of several weeks and a chest drain later he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. He was discharged home about a week after. After a spell at home of about 6 weeks he was admitted again via A&E and this time he was diagnosed with pneumonia! The antibiotics cured that problem but he couldn't be discharged due to water retention. He was sent home just after 2 weeks on AMU and then respiratory. I am now sitting here in A&E writing this as my grandad is currently here again! He has breathing problems, likely due to another chest infection. I wanted to comment and say how amazing the staff are here at this hospital. I cannot sing its praises enough. The care my grandad has received and is receiving is just so fantastic. The nurse practitioner and Occupational Health Practitioner name just 2. A&E, AMU and Respiratory wards all staff have been amazing. Thank you.
