I visited the cardiac centre on 12 November for a planned PCI. This is my second treatment there, as I had a heart attack in 2008. I cannot recommend this unit highly enough. My doctor is reassuring and exceptionally skilled and efficient, leading an impressive team. I spent 3 hours in the cath lab, not sedated as the whole experience from admission had put me at ease. Because I followed the procedure I know that the doctors were meticulous in their attention to detail and I have every confidence that the four stents they deployed are perfectly sized and placed. I had a blanket to keep warm, but the staff in the lab had to endure 3 hours of intense concentration in quite a chilly environment. However, their attitude was totally professional, dedicated and patient-focused, with a cheery disposition throughout. Back in the unit, the whole care team was excellent and really looked after both me and my wife. I arrived at around 10am and didn't leave until 8pm, mainly because my puncture wound wouldn't cooperate and heal quick enough. Everyone was very understanding and very helpful. This is an outstanding cardiac centre, with excellent staff and a welcoming, reassuring atmosphere. Thank you all for the treatment and care I received. Hopefully I will not be back, but if I do need further treatment, I will have no worries. Five stars all the way!
