I gave birth to my son on Christmas Day. I had a very long labour which covered 4 midwife shifts! Everyone was excellent; I couldn't believe how good the care was in the delivery suite, each member of staff was so kind, caring and friendly. They really made what was a difficult couple of days as comfortable as possible. They were really good at looking out for my husband too, appreciating the stress and worry he was going through. The team made it so special with me having a Christmas Day baby as we returned to our room to find a Christmas present for each of us. On the Ward the care was as good, I felt very comfortable asking for help and really felt that the team cared. I can honestly say that I have spent time in hotels which haven’t been as good. I’ve heard comments about other local hospitals being like a conveyor belt, at Wansbeck it is the opposite. Staff are lovely and genuinely care, they are very professional. I would recommend anyone due to have a baby to go to Wansbeck, you will be in very good hands.
