"I still struggle to function and have no one to support me with my diagnosis "

About: North East London NHS Foundation Trust / Forensic mental health

(as the patient),

Ive been under mental health services for 18 years in out of hospital for most of that time. I'm diagnosed with borderline personality disorder coupled with anxiety and depression. At one time I was referred to the forensic team at the John Howard Centre which concluded that I may be a danger either to myself or to the general public. This made me frightened of being locked up there so I stopped telling them things.

A year or so later, another doctor came to see me from the forensics team and after discussion told me that I would need support from my mental health team for life. However over the last year they are saying that there going to discharge me. I have refused to take part in IMPART as I've already tried but it didn't change anything. Again on my last community psychiatric assessment, my Community Psychiatric Nurse told me if I don't go to IMPART, they will discharge me. I asked what will happen if I went to IMPART and it seems they will discharge me regardless.

As I still struggle to function and have no one to support me with my diagnosis on a daily basis. I'm very scared to tell them how I really feel because of my past history and was extremely distressed after I left my last psychiatric assessment.
