"Visting AE"

Anything else?

I chose this hospital as its the closest to my home. On arrival it took me 25mins just to check into the queue for the childrens AE department. Whist we waited to be called to check in i had to sit wih my 2 children in the adults section, on a friday evening this was not a plesent experince for any of us. The check in seemed to be fairly quick once it was our turn so I can only balme the chatter that went on by teh receptionists inbetween. When we were seen the service was very good and we were seen on time at the follow up appiontments. Even thought this is my local AE i now always try to aviod it by using Queen marys urgent care of even going as far as Lewisham. Since my last visit I had the unluckly experience of being a visitor at this hospital on the maternity ward, in a bid to help tidy the mess around the patients bed i carried their tray and a small brown paper bag with rubish on it onto to the ward and asked a member pf staff where i could put them she point at a trolly and said leave them there. Which I did only to be shouted at by a member of staff who i believe was a cleaner that i couldnt it there, wehn i explained i had asked someone who said to put it there she was very rude and abrupt and told me to find a bin for the bag. I was halfway out the ward and was not about to go hunting for bins so i left it where id been given permission to leave it anyway. She then continued to shout at me that i was ignoring her. Her attitude was terrible towards me it was not my rubbish or my food tray, i was just trying to help clear the mess around the bed and got shouted at for my troubles. As a cleaner maybe she should of have removed the food tray and patients rubbish instead of shouting at me for trying to help. After 2 vistis none of them particually good I will continue totry and avoid this Hopsital.

Thank you for informing us of you experience on our maternity ward, this is not what we would have expected from any staff working within the trust and your comments have been forwarded to the appropriate manager.
