"Becoming a grannie"

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital / Maternity

(as a relative),

Last month my daughter gave birth to my first grandchild. PAH has had some bad press but I must say a big thank you to all the staff involved in caring for my daughter.

There were a few scary moments however due to the experience, calm manner, control and good communication during labour and delivery my daughter had confidence in the midwives helping her and was told exactly what she had to do and when to do it.

I would like to say thankyou to midwife Trisha and trainee midwife Rebekah for all there help, without them I am sure my little granddaughter would not be here.

Being a grannie is the best gift in the world and it is the most amazing feeling! Thankyou again please keep up the good work I don't know what we would do without you!

Thank you for your kind words about your experience. I know that the team in Women's Services will be very happy to read your words because they strive to put women and their families and partners at the centre of the work they do. When they can see they have got it right, it enables them to feel energised and confident that they are delivering high quality care for all of the women, families and partners they serve, so thank you. As you know, we are not perfect and have much to do to reach the standards we have set ourselves, but I am confident that with continued, detailed, critical and constructive feedback this will further improve. You can contact the Maternity Helpline or the Patient Experience Team anytime between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Patient Experience is on 01279 827211 and the Maternity Helpline is on 01279 827286.
