I have just been diagnosed with lobular breast cancer, which has totally devastated me.
Then to be told I will have to wait nearly 14 days for an MRI scan, then that has to be looked at by the only radiologist consultant; who I was told is extremely busy. My frustration is overwhelming, all the time I know this cancer is growing.
I have always said if I ever found out I had cancer I would rather have a double mastectomy with reconstruction. When I told my breast care nurse she replied this could change on reflection.
I am 45, completely aware of the complexities of such surgery, I don't drink or smoke have a good dietary intake. I would rather just go in, have surgery, have both removed, than waiting for these tests and delay my treatment.
Please can someone tell me where I stand. Surely the white paper no decision about me without me works both ways?
