About: West Park Hospital

Anything else?

Department was for mental health adults I've been in the system on the workers side but not west park and also recently on the patients side. Elm ward in West Park! Tut! One member of staff and he was ward manager was bossy, rude, disrespectful, and totaly a bully no empathy at all just gets very heated asap. I think its riod rage due to his temprament n quickness 2 inimidate you and other patients who are unwell. Totally disgraceful. The ward has some staff who where absoulty great n sum who didn't care! Fair enough they are probally over worked n underpayed n understaffed due to lack of funding buut respect and empathy and duty of care shouldn't cos us nothing! I hate it when I see oversized grown men starting pushing there weight around women especaily women who are vunrable and some with learning difficulties. Please some one needs to change the system n geyt someone in there! They are very judgementle when it comes to patients who have drug addictions and automatically judge there diagnosis on past drug use when mental health and addiction are combined and some people as you know self medicate due to mental health. How can a doctor of psychology diagnose you after 10 mins of talking to you! Tut! This totally boils me! I hope you can solve this or help me on bringing patient care n duty care to this place! I'm going to contact Mr Hunt state secretery of health on this issue and P.A.L.S let's hope one voice is enough to help on going patients. Well 3 people but hey its early days! But I'm not going to stop shouting bout this until something is done!

Tees Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust was very sorry to hear of your experience on Elm ward, this would not be a standard of care expected in any of our services. We apologise for not responding to this post sooner, unfortunately the usual notification process from NHS Choices to the Trust that an opinion had been posted did not occur. It was only when advised that you had contacted another organisation with concerns that PALS have been able to take any action to try and address the issues you have raised above directly with you. The Trust is committed to providing quality services and any concerns raised are taken seriously and responded to. PALS staff can be contacted on a helpline (freephone 0800 052 0219) and by email tewv.pals@nhs.net Monday to Friday 9 am – 4 pm.
