What I liked

On the 21st Aug 2007 I was a patient at North Tyneside Hospital and underwent an operation on my left hand . The Nursing staff on Ward 20 were fantastic and I couldnt fault them in any way. From the ward to the opreation I reiceved very good treatment. I apporached the day apprehensively but my mind was soon put ease by the excellent mebers of staff. The ward was very clean and was ran seemlessley. The aftercare that I have reiceved again was faultless and very profesional.

What could be improved

The only thing that i feel could have been better was the signage within the hospital itself I found myself wandering around aimlessly for about 10mins before I could find the ward in which I was meant't to be.

Thank you for completing the NHS Choices Website – Patient Opinions following your recent appointment at North Tyneside General Hospital. Your very kind comments are much appreciated and will be passed on to the relevant staff.

I am sorry you found it difficult to actually find the ward on this occasion. Ward 20 is currently used while we upgrade the originally scheme 1 wards which are now 25 years old. The signposting for ward 20 was from the original access at the west side of the site and not from the main entrance. Thank you for bringing this to our attention I will organise for a member of staff to walk the route and put in place the necessary directions to the ward.

Thank you for taking the time to write. It is most important that we continuously monitor the services to our patients and feedback of concerns will continue to play an essential role in this. I wish you a speedy recovery.
