"Prostate Cancer"

About: Southmead Hospital

Anything else?

I was admitted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol in July for a radical prostatectomy. I was admitted at 7.00 am and following a successful operation, including nerve sparing, I was discharged at 12.30 pm the following day. The treatment and care that I had was excellent. Although the hospital looks a bit cobbled together with the buildings, the staff and service was excellent. I have since made a full recovery and my cancer, 4 months, on is clear.

Dear Mr Turner - thank you for taking the time and trouble to post your views of the Urology Service at Southmead Hospital. I am sorry to take so long responding, but I have been out of the office for the last fortnight. I am very glad that you found the service to be excellent in all respects and that you are recovering well from your surgery. When the new Brunel Building opens in May 2014 I have every confidence the environment will then match the standard of the services and care provided by the staff. I have shared your comments with the Urology Management Team so the staff can be made aware of your appreciation. Kind regards – Steve Sykes Advice and Complaints Team
