"I was admitted to the A&E ..."

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted to the A&E department and henceforth to the ECU. I thought it only right, given the many criticisms levelled against hospitals these days that I should inform you that I was immensely impressed by both the aforementioned departments, and exceedingly grateful for what they did for me, especially in A&E. Given that it had been 40 years since I was last an inpatient I can tell you it was a revelation to be treated as a human being and always with courtesy and kindness by all the staff, including non-medical personnel. They epitimise all thats best in the NHS today and are a credit to North Tyneside General.

Dear Wilma,

Thank you for taking the time to inform Northumbria Healthcare of the recent care you received. We are very pleased to learn that you had a positive experience and that you found all the staff carried out their work in a caring manner. We will pass on your kind comments to the staff as it’s always encouraging to know their hard work is appreciated, particularly when there is so much bad press regarding the NHS. We hope you are on the road to a full recovery.
