Anything else?
Having a cataract treated in the Day Surgery Unit, I was received promptly and warmly. On checking details, my full name was read out and I said yes, and I am known by family and friends by my second name Lambert. I was asked if would like that, and they did. It was about me! This is the second time in the NHS when my preferred name has been used. The other time was when in Hatton ward a few years ago. It is so often assumed that the first name must be the one, especially by computers not providing a 'known as' space. More importantly I was impressed by the smooth, calm efficiency of the staff in preparation for the op, unfazed by some unexpected interruption. The surgeon did his amazing bit with skill and sensitivity. In other words thank you very much to all involved.
