Anything else?
Last night I took a friend into a&e and after waiting the obligatory few hours we got called into a room where the dr didn't listen to what we were saying and dismissed all the symptoms. Finally the dr agreed to give him a blood test. This dr then put on gloves realised he had forgotten to get something so went off walking round the department, came back still wearing the gloves and went to do the blood test. After doing the test he put the used syringe on the bin, threw his gloves on top of a different bin and sent us to the waiting room. We waited for an hour (during this time several patients went into the exam room we had been in including a child) then we got called back into the same room and low and behold the used syringe and gloves were still on top of the bin! We then disposed of them properly (after taking pictures to prove it) and we spoke to a different dr in the department who said "sometimes when it's busy that happens" we were there on a very quiet Sunday night around 1am so it was hardly busy! I am absolutely disgusted that used syringes can just be left lying around and it should not be down to the patient to dispose of the syringes the drs are using.
"Used syringe and gloves left on top of bin for..."
