This story has been posted by Healthwatch Tameside on behalf of the patient. She said…
I have fled domestic violence. My carer handed himself into police. A & E had done a MARTACH prior but carer destroyed it.
My new flat has been declared 'unfit for purpose' yet nurses keep passing the buck from each agency. Passing blood into my stools. I was sent home and then a letter was sent to ask me to come back with urgency. I fell and banged my head and waited 8 hours for a doctor to see me. The nurse then sent me home with no support. The doctor had authorised a taxi yet the nurse made a point of complaining to me that this wouldn't happen again. Came in via ambulance.
I feel my below needs could all be addressed better:
Holistic - treat every person as an individual
Medical - assessment of my needs
Social - refer to neurology, social worker timescale for review
Physical - MS is a complex condition that requires a knowledgeable opinion
Emotional
"Poor patient care, rude disrespectful staff, poor MDT, poor holistic care, no intervention to prevent re-admission"
