"Made me feel shouldnt have been there"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

Anything else?

on 29th i was in treliske at the cardiac dept having a treadmill test , result they decided that they would treat me as though I have angina giving me a mouth spray to use and putting me on beta blockers and waiting to go into have a angiogram in approx 6 weeks. I was told that if the chest and arm pain did not go away after using the spray twice in 15-20mins I was to go to the hospital. Thursday night I had really bad chest pain so took spray which after two sprays seemed to dull the pain so I went to bed ,the pain woke me around 6am the following morning so once again I took the spray and a again the pain dulled, later that morining I went shopping on coming back went to sons to have cup of tea while there the pain in chest and arm came on really strong at 3.30pm and I relised my spray was at home ,I decided to go home to take it which I did I took a spray at 4.15pm which did not do anything so took another at 4.25pm also did nothing by ,I waited about 15mins but by now I was worried and a little scared so rang my doctors who told me to go straight round. The doctor examined me and gave me an ecg and then called an ambulance to take me to hospital. Now the fun begins. I arrived at Treliske at approx 7pm saw a male nurse and gave him letter from doctor and my particulars and what had a happend earlier. I was then put on a trolly (which a nurse changed for a bed in the early hours) and left in a side partition area where I stayed till approx 4.30am before I saw a doctor ,who then took blood, put in a canular, and asked me again why I was there and what medication I was on even though it was all in my notes and letter from my doctor. Had chest x-ray and was then taken at approx 6am to Roskear cardiac ward . I still had slight chest and arm pains that kept coming and going and I was really worried by now what was going on but when they came to take my blood pressure and ecg the only one since going in the night before when asked they didnt know what was going to happen and said it is diffrent because of being weekend , I was given two paracetamols about 10am which didnt seem to make any diffrence to the chest or arm pain but thankfully the pain had got less though the morning any way.To cut a long story short as I could go on about Roskear ward , At about midday a consultant cardioligst came to see me and was not in a very good mood or maybe thats how he normally is who knows ,he asked me to explain again why I was there do they never read anything, he then told me that the treadmill test was not a good way to tell if you have heart problems, and that if I had taken the spray and it had not taken the pain away in a few seconds that this was not angina I had (they where treating it like angina not saying I had it just waiting for other test to see if it was) and that all the pain I was and had been having for the last few months was probably indigestiion ,this was a bit of a shock after having other tests.
