About: Medway Maritime Hospital

Anything else?

Outpatients staff were efficient, friendly and professional. The nurse practitioner was fantastic and so was the consultant. I elected to have my operation done under epidural. My treatment in theatre and recover was excellent. The ward staff were obviously run off their feet which concerned me. I hate to think what would happen if something out of the normal routine happened. The staff often seemed stressed. However, despite this the nurses were always kind, efficient and professional. The food was appalling! I have a strong stomach but I was unable to eat it. The main food was dried up, with flabby carrots and no taste. The sandwiches were dry and again tasteless. The nurses kindly made me toast instead.

Thank you for your positive comments about the care you received. We are sorry hear your concerns regarding how busy the ward staff were but I would like to reassure you that if an emergency did arise our highly skilled and dedicated staff are fully trained to cover these situations. I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your meals during your stay at the hospital. We are always looking at new ways to make food tasty and interesting for our patients, thank you for bringing this to our attention.
