My 22 month old daughter had been ill for 10 days with a very serious complaint. Having seen the GP every day - due to their concerns for her- we were told to go straight to A&E if her condition worsened.

Sure enough she awoke during the night in a worse condition than previously. We went to A&E . We were seen within 45 mins to be told she was 'fine' despite not being examined. The doctor didn't even so much as take her temperature. Very disappointed and very worrying. We have sought medical advice elsewhere since and I wouldn't take my children there for medical attention again - despite usually being an advocate of care at this hospital.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback about the care your daughter received at our Emergency Department. We are very sorry if you feel disappointed with the treatment she was given and that you felt the need to seek a second opinion elsewhere.

We always strive to make sure all our patients receive the best possible care so would welcome the opportunity to investigate this incident further. It is, however, difficult to comment on your daughter’s specific case without her details and reviewing her medical notes.
