"Quality of care"

About: St Richard's Hospital

Anything else?

During an unscheduled visit I was overwhelmed by the genuine care I received from every single person during the 18 hours I was in hospital. I estimate I interfaced with approximately 20 people all doing different jobs but without exception they all executed their roles to an impeccable standard. I was even told by the ward sister "don't you dare not tell me if your pain increases as I am here to look after you". I have just been watching a news article about the handling of NHS complaints and I feel its such a shame that society only seems to thrive on sensationalism of bad news and good news gets little if any coverage. There were some delays in the processing of the final blood test results however I fully accept by then I was justifiably off the fast track (which was good news) so no harm was done.A little frustration was certainly an accepatble consequence of an "all clear". A system whereby an ECG is completed and assessed within two minutes off arriving at reception is amazing, works and should be applauded not criticised. Even though they remain hidden in the background i believe the local management are doing a good job and must take credit for the caring culture I experienced which was mirrored at all levels. Thank you PS I would like to take the opportunity to thank the doctor for his continued guidance on my cholestrol condition. He inspires me to manage my condition and I am hopeful of seeking his confirmation in the near future that my diet and fitness regime is sufficiently robust to avoid medication having originally been diagnosed with an LDL in excess of 12.
