It seems to us that many of the staff on Wivenhoe Ward do not communicate with one another, or its patients and their carers - and this family is pretty damn annoyed about it. We arrived to collect our mum last night to find out that she was not allowed to leave because Drs still weren’t happy with her. Why on earth did they say one thing at lunch time and another when we arrive to pick her up? The nurse doesn't know who gave out the earlier information but they haven’t sorted mum out yet and cannot be allowed home, so she has undertaken to communicate with the family tomorrow.
Those who give information out to relatives should ensure they know what they are talking about and if there is any mind changing, then they should ensure they notify the carers of this. It is stupid that people in the same ward don’t know what is going on
