"Very poor quality of care"

Anything else?

My mother was an in patient at Queen Elizabeth having fallen and fractured her hip. She was admitted to ward 17. There were serious failings on the part of the nursing staff and their management. I complained and some of the concerns were addressed as after this I stopped finding her in a soiled state and a sign was put above her bed asking the nurses to offer her ,her food. I found that having to make a complaint in order to have very basic actions carried out a big worry in itself. I am seriously considering moving from the area as I do not wish for any member of my family to have the experience of being nursed at QEH.

Dear Sir, on behalf of Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust I would like to offer my sincere apologies for the experiences you observed whilst an in-patient on ward 17. We genuionely take such concerns seriously and strive to ensure our patients are treated with kindness and compassion in an enviroment that is safe and committed. I would very much like to speak to you to discuss the issues raised, at the very least we must learn from the kind of experiences. Again my apologies for your experience and I will be speaking with the team on ward 17.
