"Exemplary service at A&E Reception, Victoria Hospital"

I want to say thank you to all the Reception staff on duty over the afternoon and early evening in late October.

I received a text from my friend to say she was in A&E, so we travelled to Victoria Hospital to be with her and (we had hoped) to take her home. We'd never been to this hospital before so asked at the Reception desk at the Main Entrance for assistance and directions. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful.

We then reported to A&E Reception. Although we were unable to see our friend immediately, the Receptionist was extremely helpful at keeping us informed and took us through to the resuscitation area as soon as she could. We ended up back and forward into the waiting area for nearly 4 hours.

Not only were the Receptionists courteous and helpful to us, but apparently to every person who came in while we were there (including some challenging people). It's often easy to criticise staff in such a situation, but from this personal experience, I found the service exemplary.

Many thanks for helping to ease a stressful situation with courtesy and professionalism.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback about your recent experience at the Victoria Hospital. Attending hospital as a visitor can be very stressful and therefore I was delighted to hear of the way in which you were dealt with by our Reception staff. First impressions are very important, and the way in which you describe the ongoing assistance of the Reception staff is indeed what we aim to achieve.
