"mums death"

About: Frenchay Hospital

Anything else?

after receiving poor service whilst in a&e but I let them off as it was a bank holiday, the hospital still failed me and my family in support all through my mums stay right up to when the consultant had to turn her life support off in an undignified manner and very disrespectful way at that, her death was bad enough to bear but the lack of compassion we received needs to be addressed

Dear Anonymous – please accept my condolences on the sad loss of your mother. I was very concerned to learn of the events you detail in your review and would like the opportunity to try and address your concerns, and also understand the issues and discover what the Trust can learn to make sure no other families have your experience. A&E is always very busy, but it is very important we do not loose sight of the individual and provide all patients and their relatives with the professional care and support they deserve. I very much regret that this was not your family’s experience. I would also like to understand why your mother and wider family did not receive the support and care they needed on the ward. If you would like to take up my offer please contact me by supplying her personal details and sending some further information about your mother’s care to complaints@nbt.nhs.uk Kind regards – Steve Sykes Advice and Complaints Team Manager
