A close elderly friend of mine is currently being investigated for some lumps on her neck. She was referred to the radiology department for an ultrasound and biopsy of one of these lumps. We suspect it'll be bad news but the doctor who performed the procedure was extremely kind. He answered the questions asked of him honestly and patiently and was helped by a lovely Sister in the department. My friend was comfortable throughout the procedure and the doctor had our full trust. The Radiology department is a credit to the hospital. We had only a fleeting visit to the neck department before this but they were all very lovely too. I've already posted this comment to the Hospital but I think it should be shared to the wider public - there is too much bad press these days about care in the NHS but we experienced real warmth and I suspect no little skill when we attended our appointment recently. I hope it continues!
