Anything else?
Waited two months for my referral to the ENT so expected to see it busy when I went, but the department was very quiet with a plenitude of staff wandering about.. Despite this I was still in the unit a total of 2 hours for a 10minute appointment. I had visited my GP on 4 occasions before my referral appointment due to illness so I was looking forward to being seen and receiving something in the form of treatment from a specialist. The 'doctor' I had was by far the most unprofessional member of staff I've ever met and I was shocked by his attitude and manner. The 'doctor' failed to give me a serious and sincere diagnosis and when asking me for my symptoms he just laughed and said he was baffled and said there was nothing wrong with me and said there was no difference between me and the assisting nurse in the room and she was not ill. He said although the four GPs I had seen at my surgery had diagnosed a problem, 'he dealt with ENT every day to the point that he was sick of it' and was adamant that he didn't think there was a problem, despite my complaints that I was in pain. His closing remark was to refer me to a counsellor as 'my brain was obviously bored' and making it up. Needless to say, I'll be returning to my GP and won't be going back to James Cook ENT.
"Totally unprofessional and disrespectful"
