"Cardiac care and car parking"

About: Wexham Park Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

When my husband recently suffered a heart attack at home, an ambulance arrived in minutes and he was taken to the cardiac care unit at Wexham Park.

I was shown to a waiting room and a charming nurse brought me tea. Within 40 minutes he had been treated for a myocardial infarction and had a stent fitted. We cannot fault the speed, efficiency and care he received there.

My only complaint is the difficulty parking! When you reach the end of the front car park it is a dead end with no turning space so you are forced to reverse all the way back by which time there is someone behind you with the same problem. This is so distressing when you are trying to reach a seriously ill family member.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback about your recent experience. We are really pleased to here how well both you and your husband were treated.

We recognise that parking is a real challenge and are currently in the process of making some changes which will expand the amount of visitor parking available. Whilst this will not completely resolve the issue, we hope that it will help improve it.

We hope your husband is making a good recovery.
