"Excellent care at Lister A&E"

About: Lister Hospital

Anything else?

You hear good reports and bad reports, so here is a good one. On Sunday 2 weeks ago my Wife Ros who has MS was brought to the new A&E. She had had a fall whilst I was out at the Museum. The ambulance team ran a check and were not happy with her heart trace. I met them at the hospital. From the start the Reception Team were professional and friendly and helped calm me down. The Doctor's and Nurses could not have been kinder or more helpful. With Ros' permission they made me feel part of their team as her Carer. It all turned out well after 2 hours Ros' trace was normal. No further problems since. Whilst visiting A&E is never a something you want to do, the way Ros and I were treated was excellent. Things were explained clearly and no jargon. Last but not least the new A&E is amazing. The new treatment rooms give privacy and dignity. Please pass on my thanks to your staff and the doctor for a job well done.

We know that your message carries your thanks for the care and support you and your wife received recently at the Lister's emergency department, but in turn we would like to thank you for letting us know all about that experience. Although still some way from being finished, our new emergency service is pretty amazing - and so are the staff working in it. Every day they look after hundreds of people, young and old. Some have relatively minor injuries or illnesses, whilst others face losing limbs or, sometimes, even their lives. Our doctors and nurses, as well as the porters, clerks and other staff, work as a team to provide their patients with reassuring, compassionate high quality care. And whilst this is what they achieve in virtually every case, we also know just how delighted they will be when they get to read your feedback - which we will make sure reaches them as soon as possible. We hope that your wife has gone on to make a good recovery following her fall and for all the right reasons, our emergency department team don't get to see you again! But of course they will always be there, day and night, should the need arise.
