Anything else?
This review is for Outpatient Clinic only. Symptoms started in Jan 2011. I was eventually referred by my GP on two separate occasions to the "consultants" in Jan & Oct 2012 with severe abdominal pain initially in lower left, then upper left as well (plus other symptoms) - Querying IBS (the "catch all" for anything not completely obvious). On both occasions I found the clinics to be a waste of time. "Consultants" seemed disinterested (except to watch the clock or looking for any opportunity to get me off their list and back to the GP). This was particularly apparent on my second visit (different consultant) when, despite clearly outlining that all the IBS treatments and management had absolutely no effect whatsoever (I had been through them all by then) The advice was to "just keep using management" Having wasted over a year waiting for appointments etc I asked my GP to refer me to another consultant at UHSM. The contrast in experience is like night and day. Apparently consultants do exist who listen and are interested in actually treating illness - not just keeping their lists down. I have visited UHSM twice now and though not "cured" am making progress - which is why I am writing this now because I can confirm that the "service" was pathetic! I would seriously advise anyone, based on my experience, to avoid wasting their time if they have any IBS or similar conditions to avoid Warrington at all costs. At best you will be delaying proper treatment or at worst you might believe them and continue your suffering unnecessarily.
