Anything else?
Having been discharged from the Surgical Clinical Decisions Unit at 10am and arranging to be collected by my husband, we were kept waiting until 2.15pm for the Pharmacy to provide a simple mouth wash. I cannot believe there can be any reasonable excuse for such a long wait, but would be pleased to hear of any reason. The ward staff were as frustrated as we were and made several attempts to find out where the mouth wash was in the system. It appeared to us that they received very little information or cooperation from the Pharmacist. Apart from the inconvenience to us, there was a period of 4.5hours when a bed could have been made available to A & E. I was due to take a dose of antibiotics at 12 noon, but because Pharmacy were holding my records I was unable to take them until 2.15, 2.25 hours later than required - I was concerned! The above said, my experience through A & E and 24 hours in the SCDU was impressive. There was little waiting time between tests and consultations and the whole team of Doctors, Consultants, nurses and ancillary staff were efficient, friendly and attentive. Thank you.
