What I liked

The doctor quickly diagnosed my problem and prescribed medication which was effective within 12 hours and eliminated the pain within 18 hours.

What could be improved

I arrived in A & E at 1145 on Saturday 22 March. The Department was not particularly busy but I was not attended to by a doctor untill about 1345.

Our aim is to see all patients within 4 hours of arrival. We have a dedicated ‘See and Treat’ service run by a nurse and a senior doctor which attends to minor injuries. Although the waiting room may appear quiet at times there may be other priorities in other areas of the department. Your query has been fully investigated, and the day in question happened to be a busy day with many medical referrals. We are very sorry that you had to wait for longer than you felt was necessary on this occasion. Please accept our apologies for the delay.

We are however pleased to see that the diagnosis and medication you received were quick and efficient.
