"Microdiscectomy in 2012"

After months of back and sciatic pain I was referred to Mr Kamat at Thornbury Hospital by my GP. After an initial consultation with Mr Kamat I was quickly offered a date for surgery to remove the damaged disc in my lower back.

Thornbury Hospital and all the nursing staff were superb. Mr Kamat and his surgical/anaesthesia colleagues were informative and reassuring throughout the process.

I was amazed by the instant relief I felt after the surgery and whilst I appreciate this may not be possible for everyone - for me it has been life-changing.
