"There were over 100 items of trash ..."

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

(as a relative),

What could be improved

There were over 100 items of trash between the car park and the entrance of outpatients on the afternoon of January11, 2008. This area had clearly not been cleaned this year.

The main reception was not manned on my arrival or departure.

The nursing staff were chatting in their room on my arrival and departure, although some patients needed help. They came across as unprofessional.

Thank you for your feedback. I will ensure that I pass on your comments to our estates department for resolution. We recognise the benefit of having a manned reception area and are currently making considerable improvements with this issue by recruiting more staff to this particular role. We do try to man front-desks with our dedicated team of volunteers if at all possible. I am sorry that on this occasion there was no one available. I am also sorry you thought that some of our nurses appeared to be unprofessional. There could have been many reasons why the staff were engaged in conversation and so unfortunately I cannot provide you with a clearer explanation of this issue.

We have noted your comments. Thanking for taking the time to share your concerns with us.
