"My Father's visit to Resuc and AAU"

About: Lister Hospital

Anything else?

My dad suffered a LOC incident in Letchworth on 15/10/2013. The paramedics were on the scene promptly and I am sure the fact that he got to hospital so quickly prevented a much more serious incident. I just wanted to report that the staff and the treatment my dad received both in resuc and AAU was fantastic. I got to the hospital promptly and was impressed by the courteousness and calm professionalism of the very busy staff. The doctor and his team. The communication from the hospital was occasionally contradictory (wrong ward details for overnight stay) but always quickly cleared up on the live system. Everyone I talked to was helpful. Particular thanks to the nurses who looked after my dad overnight in AAU the doctor saw us the following day very promptly and was clear and helpful. In short all the staff were great and I was particularly thankful for that under the stressful circumstances. Well done. Thank you.

We're really pleased to learn how well you felt your Dad was looked after following his every recent stay at the Lister. You're right, these can be very stressful times for both the patient and their families, which is why calm, supportive and professional staff can make a very big difference - as deminstrated by your experience. We'll make sure that your feedback reaches the A&E and AAU teams at the Lister, but in the meantime we hope that Dad continues to make a good recovery.
