"Inguinal Hernia repair"

About: Three Shires Hospital

Anything else?

Positives - Short wait time to see consultant. Short wait for operation. Same consultant who works at Northampton General. Nursing staff were great Negatives- Cursory initial examination by consultant, very little conversation or explanation. Told I was going to have laproscopic procedure, surgeon carried out an open procedure, this possibility was not mentioned during any consultation. Nerve block completely numbed my leg for 2 days so kept falling over which could have been a problem to older patients, fortunately I am fit and young enough to run about 10 miles a week. Wound healing an issue as incision did not close along full length with steristrips. Overall - grateful to have go the job done quickly and ultimately successfully, but some minor issues.
