The reception/hospitality staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The nursing staff, to a person, were helpful, efficient, knowledgeable and did their best to put patients at their ease. The impression given is that nothing is too much trouble. Treatment from the very experienced consultant and anaesthetist was thorough, professional and friendly. Everything was done to make the procedure as smooth and worry-free as possible. The follow-up by the physiotherapy staff was thorough and professional. Food is excellent. Rooms are a little functional, but spacious, clean and well equipped. Toilet facilities, with walk-in shower, are excellent and cleaning was thorough. Pre-op procedures were smoothly undertaken and again thoroughly done, with ECG, X-rays, bloods and infection checks taken. All staff seem clearly to have had good training in dealing with people in often stressful situations and people skills are excellent.The waiting/reception area is attractive and stress-free, although the area outside at the rear could be made a little more pleasant with more imaginative planting and the car-park has been poorly designed. I thoroughly recommend this hospital.
