About: Russells Hall Hospital

Anything else?

After originally going to the A&E department in the morning, although the doctor was helpful, they did not do a full investigation into my injury, it got looked at I was handed a prescription and sent on my way. After taking the pills it had zero effect on my illness and the pain just got worse and worse, I decided to go back to A&E for a second opinion. My second visit was so much better, all of the staff were so helpful and everything was do to make sure I was comfortable and happy, all of the doctors and nurses were very helpful. My only issue was if the same level of care would have been given in the morning when I attended it would have meant I would not have had such a bad day with so much pain. To all if the staff who were there on the evening thank you so very much, you all gave me the utmost confidence in everything that you did and I would be 100% confident in returning if I knew the same team were there.

Thank you, Karl, for taking the time to let us know about your experience of our A&E Department. We are pleased to hear that you were so well looked after by the doctors and nurses who cared for you during your second visit to the hospital. It is also good to know that you would be confident returning to us if you needed care again. We are sorry that you felt the care you received during your first visit was not of quite as high a standard. The decision to let you return home would not have been taken without full consideration by the doctors and nurses taking care of you. We can assure you that you would have only been discharged if your doctor was fully satisfied that you were well enough to go home. If you would like to raise these concerns with us further you can contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on freephone 0800 073 0510.
