"Going to Hospital as a patient ..."

About: Salford Royal

(as the patient),

What I liked

Going to Hospital as a patient is not really the nicest things i like doing however my experiance of being treated at Hope Hospital was excellent, the staff at all times are friendly and willing to assist. My reasons for wanting to send comment in about the hospital as when i visited the Podiatry clinic the doctor was friendly and very knowladgeable. My appointment was made within days and i was seen on time which is very important as i had work commitments to attend that day also.

What could be improved

The minor things that could possilby be inproved is that when visiting the A&E reception the staff taking the details are very serious and unapproachable, in the few times i have visited the hospital only one receptionist is available, also an indication if how long waiting times are would be ideal.

We apologise that the writer was disappointed in the reception service within our A&E Department. We constantly strive to improve our service to our patients and hold regular training sessions in customer care for our staff. We have recently reviewed our staffing numbers to ensure suitable cover is always provided on the reception desk. The department is currently undergoing a refurbishment which once complete will provide a new reception and waiting room provision (with advice on waiting times) which will benefit both patients and staff. We value all comments and ensure that the team learn from them to improve our patient experience.
