"colorectal team, surgical ward, and parking"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

Anything else?

The one team, especially the ibd specialist nurse provide the best one care around.. The colorectal surgeon is a miracle worker when it comes to laparoscopic surgery, he is also very caring and has excellent bed side mannor. I have nothing but praise and admiration for him and his team. The nurses who work in endoscopy are also amazing. The care on the surgical ward could be better, bit this may be due to the work load and lack of time, most of the nurses do an excellent job though some could do a refresher on bedside manor! The only thing that ruins the hospital is the New parking eye system! I took my mum to an appointment, she had previously registered my car to her disabled badge. But I have received a fine!

Dear Donna Thank you so much for taking the time to share your recent story of care. It is really important to us that we have an opportunity to understand our patients experience so we are able to learn where we can improve and celebrate the excellent work of our staff. I am so pleased to read that you felt so well cared for by the team who carried out your surgery. We know how important it is our patients that the care they receive care that is not just of a high clinical standard but it is also delivered in a caring and compassionate matter. The team will be so pleased to know this was how your care felt to you. I am really sorry that this excellent experience did not extend onto the surgical ward. I'd be very keen to learn more about what we can do to improve. With regard to the parking fine that you have received taking your mum to an appointment, I am really sorry that this has happened and would really like to help you with this. My email address is Joanne.mackintosh@northumbria-healthcare.nhs.uk I do hope that you continue to have a good recovery now you are home. With all best Wishes Jo
