"my mother was not prescribed her medication until 20:30"

About: West Heath Hospital

(as a relative),

My mother was transferred to ward 11 today from the royal orthopaedic, she got there around 14: 30 and the was no doctor available to prescribe he medication until approximately 20: 30. Now how can this happen? Analgesia is crucial to aid mobility and subsequently reduce length of stay. The excuse we got was that there is only 1 doctor on call and there was AN(not two) emergency, I think this is an appalling state of affairs.

Thank you for your feedback. On receipt of your feedback, Janette Bigford, the Patient Experience Lead contacted you and you subsequently met with the Clinical Team Leader for the ward to resolve this matter. I am sorry your mother did not receive her pain relief in a timely manner on this occasion and trust the remainder of her stay was comfortable.
