"Maternity Triage"

About: West Middlesex University Hospital

Anything else?

I went in at 19wks pregnant yesterday with a minor complaint which could have been more serious.Although i had a long wait, staff were great and apologised for the delay. 4 ladies were admitted and seen before me as they were emergencies. This I understand. In that time I spoke to many of the other patients and witnessed first hand the excellent service they received from reception all the way to nurses and midwives. One of the patients and partner said 'finally' when they were seen. The member of staff apologised and advised emergencies had to dealt with first as a priority. I wish all patients could understand this simple procedure. Staff were extremely busy, with some not having breaks and staying past their shift times. I was seen by a nurse and doctor. All the necessary checks were done and anything serious ruled out. Advice given and serious symptoms to look for explained and advised that they were 24hrs if I had any concerns. The department will contact me today to arrange a follow up. I could not fault tge department when i had my first chikd there and feel safe and reassured knowing that i will ve having my second child.
