Anything else?
This hospital is too large. There is never enough car parking space - the whole hospital area was not well thought out in the early stages of it being extended from a reasonably well run normal sized hospital. When complaining to PALS - things are "brushed over" and excuses made....there really does seem to be far too much time wasted on Admin....Trying to prove they have done the job right - instead of actually "doing the job" No complaints with the Staff from the Accident and Emergency department - although as in most of the hospital there seems to be a lot of people doing more admin work than actually "caring for the patients" Generally the staff are as helpful as the system allows them to be. However, cannot say the same about the Hostess and cleaning staff.......Believe this area is not part of NHS - Cannot think why not. Food is not too good. Cleanliness leaves something to be desired.....Not good. Overall, as said, believe most of the Medical staff are as helpful as the system now allows, far too much time spent on admin work and proving they are doing things right ! How sad things have come to this level within the NHS, nothing seems to really change, except "ticking the right boxes" Our family are lucky we have excellent GP Practice - but it is so sad to see Derby hospitals come down to this level. Years ago this kind of form would not even have been thought of.......sure there may have been some dissatisfaction and complaints - but should it be necessary ? Also it is far too general, I have actually ticked visiting A & E recently, however my feelings and those of many friends, family etc. etc. come from other areas of the hospital. I myself was in hospital over Christmas in two different wards...... that is also an area needs improving - they way patients are moved from bay to ward and then onto another ward - is it always necessary - a lot of time must be wasted. We read complaints about this hospital far too frequently.......what has changed though. Hopefully something will eventually be done.
"Fairly Satisfied"
