Anything else?
I was shocked to read the review from the person who chose this hospital for their antenatal care for gestational diabetes and has found it unsatisfactory. As someone who has lived with type 1 diabetes for 25 years and expecting my first child I have only ever experienced the best care at this hospital - I've received some pretty poor diabetes care at other hospitals in the past so have plenty of experience to base this upon. The staff are extremely friendly, courteous and informative - they really go the extra mile when it comes to diabetes care, providing out of hours telephone and mobile numbers to call 24/7. I have even had advice via email from specialist nurses and consultants, sent outside of their working hours - this level of service is outstanding. There are long waiting times in the antenatal clinics, but with gestational and type 2 diabetes on the increase, this is hardly surprising. On more than one occasion I have been horrified at the manner in which patients talk to the staff, who never fail to be polite. It's horrible to witness and I wish people would be more considerate. I would like to thank all the team and encourage them to keep up the good work.
"Diabetes & Endocrine Antenatal Clinic is excellent"
