The doctor was excellent - clear, caring and informative, I could not have asked for better. The two receptionists I encountered on the way were rather less impressive. The man at the main reception desk I assumed was someone who was standing in for the professionals - he was unhelpful and unfriendly - rattled off directions, dismissed a supplementary question and whenever I saw him after that he was on the phone. No-one whose first language wasn't English, who was extremely nervous, who was very elderly or confused or had hearing problems would have stood a chance with that totally unprofessional man. Upstairs at Rheumatology reception I was kept waiting for 10 minutes while the receptionist has a chat with a friend. When she eventually decided to notice me she said she thought I was waiting for physio - in that case why was I waiting in the Rheumatology queue when they were two different queues? Again very unprofessional. The woman who took my weight etc before the appointment was lovely!
