"1. The attitude of all staff, ..."

About: Tameside General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

1. The attitude of all staff, in various departments, was excellent - both efficient and cheerful. The nursing and caring staff in Ward 3 were particularly impressive. I was always made to feel like a valued individual.

2. The food was excellent, The quality was consistently high, the meals were always delivered to the ward piping hot and the choice was impressive (eg a choice of 6 main courses for dinner each day). I was particularly glad that we were given a choice between large and small portions.

What could be improved

The car parking can be difficult at peak times.

Thank you for posting your comments. I will make sure that they are brought to the attention of the staff concerned. We receive many very positive comments about the care we provide, and about the food, and I am glad your experience was so positive. I am sorry not to have replied earlier - we have only recently been given the facility to do so. The situation with car parking is very unfortunate and I am very sorry for anyone experiencing difficulties. Obviously, the current difficulties reflect the multi million pound build and refurbishment the hospital is currently undergoing, and the net effect will be high quality, 21st Century facilities for the people of Tameside and Glossop.

Philip Dylak

Director of Nursing
