"Tameside Hospital - x ray"

About: Tameside General Hospital

(as a staff member),

Told to go to 4 different places. Card from GP (card was outdated - Bedford House, Ashton) said to attend Ladysmith - closed. Went to North Side - receptionist told us to go to South Side - receptionist told us to go back to North Side who then directed us back to Ladysmith.

Then didn't have the equipment to x ray knee stood up - radiographer told me they could have taken that x ray at South Side. New cards have been distributed but not filtered through.

I am sorry for the inconvenience this as caused you on this occasion.

We have previously issued numerous reminders to the General Practices requesting that only the new referral forms are utilised for X-ray as these include the details of which areas of the site to attend. We will re-issue this advice, requesting that all old request cards are disposed of. Within the next few months, we will be implementing a new electronic system for GP referrals and the printed referral which is produced includes an up to date map of the site with clearer instructions as to where the patient should attend. Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
