"Telephoning a department at Tameside General"

About: Tameside General Hospital

(as the patient),

If you misplace the appointment letter to a specific dept., and telephone the 'switchboard number' it fobs you off with "please phone the specific department dealing with your enquiry".

This is poor. It should offer some more specific references to, say ward or department telephone numbers.
